Napoleon's digs

I had always heard of Fontainebleau but never really knew what it was. We checked it out and discovered it is a palace that blows all those chateaux we saw out of the water. Napoleon spent time here and left for his exile in Elba from here.

They had some of Napoleon' shoes and clothes which were so tiny. I bet the shoes were about a size 5 and I am guessing the belt in this picture was about 26 inches long.





There were tons of gorgeous furnishings as you can see below, plus one statue that must have been popular with the guys.































Not sure of the origins of this statue. It is certainly eye-catching !
